Trans Haven's Commitment to Support Transgender Refugees

Trans Haven's mission is rooted in providing support, advocacy, and a safe haven for transgender individuals. Today, I want to address two pressing issues that deeply concern me: the plight of transgender refugees in Ireland and the ongoing conflicts in Palestine and Ukraine.

Trans Haven acknowledges the unique challenges faced by transgender refugees in Ireland. Seeking asylum and safety can be an hard journey, and transgender people often face additional hurdles due to discrimination, lack of understanding, and limited access to resources. I recognize the urgent need for support tailored to the specific needs of transgender refugees, and I am committed to offering solidarity and assistance.

Trans Haven condemns the actions of Israel against Palestine and the continued aggressions from Russia against Ukraine. We stand firm in our belief that every individual deserves to live in peace and safety, free from violence and oppression. We denounce any actions that infringe upon the rights and well-being of innocent civilians, including those in the transgender community who are disproportionately affected by conflict and displacement.

In light of these circumstances, Trans Haven is taking concrete steps to provide assistance where it is needed most. I am proud to announce that I will be offering free support sessions to transgender refugees from Palestine and Ukraine. These sessions will provide a safe space for trans people to share their experiences, seek guidance, and access resources to help navigate their journey self-empowerment in, what will hopefully become, their new home - Ireland.

My commitment to supporting transgender refugees extends beyond words – it is a call to action rooted in empathy, compassion, and solidarity. I believe in the power of community to uplift and empower individuals in their time of need, and I am honored to stand alongside our transgender siblings as a peer, ally and advocate.

To my transgender siblings in Ireland, Palestine, Ukraine, and beyond – know that you are not alone. Trans Haven is here for you, ready to offer unwavering support and solidarity.

Together, we will continue to strive for a world where every transgender individual can live freely, authentically, and without fear.
