Not a Dating Service
This is an important note for those seeking romantic connections with transgender people and / or crossdressers.
In a world where transgender individuals often face discrimination, misunderstanding, and even violence, safe spaces are more critical than ever. Trans Haven is one such sanctuary, designed to provide transgender people and their allies with the resources, advice, and support they need. Here, transgender people and allies can learn about transgender-related topics and seek guidance without fear of judgment or harm. However, it’s important to clarify the purpose and boundaries of this space: Trans Haven is not a dating or matchmaking service, nor is it a platform for those who fetishize transgender identities.

Understanding Trans Haven's Mission
Trans Haven exists to empower and support the transgender community. Whether someone is questioning their gender identity, seeking advice on transitioning, or simply looking for a community that understands their experiences, Trans Haven offers a wealth of resources and a compassionate community. The platform is also open to allies—friends, family members, and supporters—who want to learn more about transgender issues and how to support their loved ones.
However, it's important to note that Trans Haven is explicitly not a platform for dating or matchmaking. This distinction is crucial because the platform aims to focus on genuine support and education rather than romantic or sexual connections. Those seeking relationships with transgender individuals are encouraged to use appropriate dating apps or websites designed for that purpose. Trans Haven is about community, education, and solidarity, not romance or fetishism.

Fetishization and the Problem of "Chasers"
One of the significant challenges transgender people face is fetishization, where their identities are reduced to objects of sexual desire rather than respected as full, complex human beings. This issue often manifests in the form of "chasers." In the context of the transgender community, a "chaser" refers to someone who is primarily or exclusively attracted to transgender individuals for the novelty or perceived exoticism of their gender identity. This attraction is not based on genuine respect or affection but rather on a dehumanizing fixation.
Chasers can be highly invasive and harmful. They often approach transgender people with disrespectful or inappropriate propositions, treating them as objects to fulfill their fantasies rather than as people deserving of dignity and respect. This behavior is not only disrespectful but also dangerous, contributing to the stigmatization and marginalization of transgender individuals.
At Trans Haven, chasers are not welcome. The community is dedicated to fostering a respectful and supportive environment where transgender people can feel safe and valued for who they are, not for how others perceive them sexually. The focus is on building connections based on mutual respect, understanding, and support, not on fulfilling fetishistic desires.

The Exclusion of TERFs
In addition to chasers, Trans Haven also takes a firm stance against TERFs (Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminists). TERFs are individuals or groups who identify as feminists but exclude transgender people from their activism, often espousing harmful and exclusionary beliefs about gender. They may deny the validity of transgender identities, promote policies that harm transgender people, or engage in targeted harassment.
TERFs are antithetical to the values of Trans Haven, which is built on the principles of inclusivity, respect, and support for all transgender individuals. Their presence would undermine the safe and supportive environment that Trans Haven strives to maintain. As such, TERFs are not welcome in this space.
